Video: Meet Maddock the police dog

Waiting for Video...

CRIME fighters held an information morning in Balcombe and had a visit from a Sussex Police dog handler and his pure bred German shepherd dog called Maddock.

PC Tom Mills gave up his valuable time to visit the Balcombe Neighbourhood Watch Coffee and Information Morning and gave a talk on how he trains and handles five-year-old Maddock to deal with all sorts of crime scenarios, including missing person searches and apprehending suspected criminals including those thought to be armed.

The meeting was attended by about 80 people with members of the Balcombe Neighbourhood Watch group giving out information about keeping homes and property safe and looking out for vulnerable neighbours and empty buildings.

The meeting was also attended by PCSO Jayne Milne, the Sussex Police officer responsible for Balcombe and surrounding villages including Ardingly, Staplefield and Handcross.
