Wellbeing grants available to groups

Voluntary and community sector organisations can now apply for a share of this year’s prevention and wellbeing grants programme funded by West Sussex County Council.

The programme’s key aim is for people to get out, make friends and see others and it funds community-based activities for adults and older people. Groups can apply for up to £5,000 out of a pot of £190,000.

Organisations will receive feedback and payment in August once the applications have been assessed by the relevant County Local Committees.

Peter Catchpole, cabinet member for health and adult services, said: “These community-based services and activities will contribute to the aims of our prevention and well-being agenda.

“The grants can be for small or large projects and help support social aspects of an individual’s life and to aid people not to feel isolated.”

For an application pack contact Terina Bryant on 07515 052342 or terina.bryant@westsussex.gov.uk.
