Woman threatened with gun in Burgess Hill robbery

Police are seeking a man who threatened a woman staff member with what was described as a handgun, at the Lower Church Road newsagents in Burgess Hill shortly before 2pm on Friday February 14, and made off with about £100 cash.

The suspect is described as of a dark or olive skinned complexion, of medium build, aged 35 to 40, 5’9”, wearing a khaki hooded top, dark trousers and carrying a dark back pack.

No customers were in the shop at the time, no shots were fired and nobody was injured, although the woman was very shocked and upset.

A Sussex Police spokesman said; “Did you see him hanging around before the incident or running from the scene?
