An airline will launch new routes from Gatwick to Spain, Portugal and Finland this winter.

Monarch’s routes will fly to Gibraltar four times, Lisbon thrice, and to Gran Canaria, Almeria and Kittila twice per week.

Marjan Schoeke, Monarch’s Head of Network Development said: “We continuously refine and develop our network strategy looking closely at where and at what time our customers want to fly. We are pleased to be able to introduce routes that Monarch will be flying as winter destinations for the first time, in particular, our new route to Lisbon which is proving to be a popular choice with our customers.

“In addition we are introducing a new scheduled service to Kittila, where customers can experience all that Finland has to offer with an extensive range of Santa and adventure holidays from our tour operator. In total another 119,400 seats are now available from London Gatwick for winter 2016/17.”

The remainder of its winter schedule was due to be added soon.
