New grant brings youth worker to village clubs

Danehill Parish Council has launched a Community Support Grant to improve local facilities and the quality of life.

Under the scheme grants of up to 50% will be awarded to fund community projects such as play areas, community buildings, new pathways, heritage trails, and sports facilities.

All Saints Church were awarded a grant of £21,500 over three years, to employ a youth worker to support further development of two youth groups.

Vicar Paddy McBain said: “The Parish Council’s support from its Community Support Grant Fund will make a significant difference to the lives of the young people.

“With 75 young people currently on the books, the new Youth Worker will have a great opportunity to build on the excellent work which has been going on up to this point, making a real difference to the young people in our villages and their families.”
