Don't panic, it's just for laughs...as Chichester Players prepare for Dad's Army

ONE of the nation's favourite comedy lines will be getting new laughs in Chichester this month.

The immortal words 'Don't tell him, Pike!' will ring out when the Chichester Players stage the Dad's Army episode The Deadly Attachment at the New Park Centre.

In the classic episode, Walmington-on-Sea's favourite sons stand guard over a surly German U-boat commander and his crew.

Chichester Players will also be offering two other vintage episodes on stage – Mum's Army, in which Capt Mainwaring has his own Brief Encounter, and The Godiva Affair, in which a pageant is gloriously upstaged.

Performances will be at the New Park Centre from Wednesday, April 16 to Saturday, April 19 at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday, April 19 at 2.30pm.

Tickets at 8 from the centre box office on 01243 786650, in aid of the Help For Heroes appeal which the Chichester Players saw featured in the Chichester Observer.
