Residents lined up to try out a much campaigned for new pedestrian crossing.

The crossing on Northlands Avenue, Haywards Heath, has been created thanks to a long campaign by councillors, the Neighbourhood Police Panel, business owners and residents.

Haywards Heath Town Councillor Steve Hillier, said: “Everyone has worked together over the years to get this crossing in place and make our community safer.”

Dr Huw Morris, of Northlands Wood Practice, said: “We support any measures to improve road safety and feel this new crossing will provide much safer access to our surgery for a lot of our patients.”
