We have just completed a review of our catering at Chestnut Tree House.
This involved the catering team having to complete a detailed form during every shift showing what they were doing every 5 minutes – yes, everything!
The full report was very interesting. It showed a team that work very hard, producing a huge amount of food to a very high standard.
As well as preparing the meals, time is spent on cleaning and keeping the area up to an excellent standard. A 5 star rating was recently awarded by the local environmental health team, which our team are very proud of.
The reports showed we produced almost 1,500 meals in four weeks - not including breakfasts, as the care team get those ready for the children.
When children and families visit the house, dining is a major part of their stay. And it is not only the delicious meals, it is also the lovely atmosphere created by everyone sitting together in the dining room.
Roast dinners and cakes are probably the most talked about by the families, but for me it is the chef’s special mango and chicken salad, or the avocado and bean salad. But then I also love the Thursday night curry!
I would like to take this opportunity to commend our catering team on the fantastic job they do.
