Visiting times at the Princess Royal Hospital have been extended to give patients more time with their loved ones.
Wards at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton are now welcoming visitors between 3pm and 8pm, with some exceptions such as maternity, children’s services, dementia wards and critical care.
Visiting times were previously split between 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 8.30pm.
Caroline Davies Deputy Chief Nurse, said: “We have listened to our patients and we hope that by expanding our visiting times they will have a better experience while in our hospitals.
“Many people can find coming into hospital quite frightening as they are in a new environment, surrounded by new people, new sights and new sounds.
“Often having visitors helps reduce some of their fears and recent studies have shown that visiting increases patient satisfaction, so we hope this will make a positive difference.”
