Police are investigating a series of thefts in Felbridge.
Officers said a purse containing £200 was stolen from a woman outside the The Star pub, on the corner of the A22 and the A264 Copthorne Road, at around 9.30am on Thursday November 26.
The woman was waiting for a National Express coach when she was approached by a man who asked to swap a £2 coin for two £1 coins.
After he left the victim noticed her purse had been stolen.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned man, aged between 40 to 50 and about 5’ tall. He had greyish hair which was balding at the back, brown glasses and wore a dark suit.
On Tuesday December 8, at around 12.30am, police said a man was also robbed of his mobile phone after he was pushed by two men outside The Felbridge Hotel.
Another mobile phone was stolen at around 10.30am the following day from a man working on a junction box on the A22 London Road.
Police said the victim placed his phone on his toolbox and believed a man who approached him to ask the time stole it.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “It is believed the incidents may be linked, however officers are keeping an open mind.
“Anyone with any information is urged to contact Sussex Police on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101, quoting serial 575 of 26/11.”
