Quit cigarette smoking with NHS help
WINSTON Churchill had the habit and so did Franklin D Roosevelt but you can kick it thanks to support from NHS Sussex.
Smokers across Sussex are being encouraged to join the thousands of people who have made the step to go smokefree in the last year.
More than 4000 people in the county, who sought NHS help to stop smoking achieved their ambition according to latest figures – and health professionals are calling for more to follow in their footsteps.
Anna Kirk, Tobacco Control lead for West Sussex, said: “Going smokefree is the best thing you can do for your health and that of your loved ones and so the fact that there are thousands of success stories is great.
“People are four times more likely to quit with support from NHS Stop Smoking Services than if they go it alone, and we want everyone to remember that.
“Going smokefree isn’t easy and people shouldn’t be downhearted if they have tried and not quite made it this time, try again – there are never too many attempts to make this big difference to your health.”
Free NHS Quit Kits are also available from local pharmacies. To find your nearest stockist text SEARCH and your postcode to 88088 or search online at www.nhs.uk/smokefree.
