Bingo: Calling Anne and Harry in Burgess Hill, your company is requested for Sunday 6 December at 7.30pm at Scaynes Hill Club when there will be another entertaining Bingo Night hosted as ever by Kevin Pierpoint. A second Bingo will be held in December on Tuesday 22 December at 7.45pm. This will be a special Christmas Bingo.

Christmas Dinner: The next Scaynes Hill food extravaganza will take place on Saturday 5 December at Scaynes Hill Club. This time it will be a Christmas Feast with all the trimmings. The cost will be just £7.50 per person. Look out for the posters around the village. Places MUST be booked in advance for catering purposes and can be done at the club or by emailing me at gefrin1@yahoo.com. Places are filling fast so be quick.

Christmas Quiz: There will be a fun filled Christmas Quiz on Saturday 12 December. There will be a maximum of 5 players per team and entrance to the quiz is just £2.00 pp. The quiz will have a Christmas theme. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Christmas Trees at Oakgates Farm: Oakgates Farm is now open for Christmas Tree Reservations. It really is a fantastic way to choose a tree and can involve the whole family. Go along to the farm and you will be given a label to put your name on, then off you go to wander around all the trees that are still growing outside. When you find the tree of your dreams then just tie on your label and let them know at reception when you want to pick it up. It will then be sawn and netted for you on your arranged day. Make sure you take wellies! Oakgates Farm is down Clearwater Lane, just past the garage in Scaynes Hill. They are open from 9.00 – 17.00 daily. For more information call on 01444 831189 or email oakgatesfarm@hotmail.co.uk. Be quick though because they really do sell out quick because the trees are fabulous, the prices are great and the local family who own the business are so lovely and helpful.

Congratulations to Adam Livings: Adam played his first ever competitive pool match in the Mid Sussex Pool League last Thursday. He did himself and Scaynes Hill Club very proud with a fantastic victory. At just 15 years old Adam is the club’s youngest ever team player. Well done and may it be the first win of many.

St Augustine’s Church News: Carols and Christmas Tree Lights: The Christmas Tree outside the church will be lit on Sunday 6 December. There will also be mince pies. Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Children in Need cake sale last Sunday. We made an amazing £181.50 which we will pledge to Children in Need. A big, big thank you to everyone for all their generosity. Youth News: Do you have any good, second hand toys you could donate to the children’s toy box? If so please let Emily know

Scaynes Hill Beavers and Scouts: The Beavers and Scouts, who meet in the Millennium Centre, are struggling to find leaders at the moment. Group Scout Leader, Steve Minter (831786) would be pleased to hear from anyone who might like to find out more about getting involved.
