Singer Rory on road to glory

Thirteen-year-old singer Rory Indiana Kaye has won through to the final of a national talent competition.

The Oathall Community College pupil who lives in Lindfield won the regional final of Live & Unsigned at Hove Town Hall on Saturday and now goes into the national final at Fairfield Halls in Croydon on June 28.

Dad Hereward said: "Saturday was really emotional for us all and for Rory especially.

"The show is the biggest talent contest after X-Factor with 20,000 entrants to start with so he has done incredibly well to reach the final. We're all so proud of him."

Rory Indiana and his dad wrote their own song entitled Stare Into The Sun for the final, which they performed together with Hereward on guitar, Rory's elder brother Leon on bass and George Cook from his band The Disturbed on drums.

Hereward said:"At the end when everyone was standing on the stage together and the judges announced Rory was the winner we all jumped up and started cheering and waving our arms in the air and there was ticker-tape and fireworks! It was the most amazing occasion and a real rock'n roll day for Rory."
