Hassocks road closed after motorcyclist, 62, dies in crash

A section of a Hassocks road will be closed for some time after a motorcyclist died in a crash this morning (April 13).

A blue Suzuki motorcycle was travelling northbound on the A273 Brighton Road at about 8.42am when it was involved in a collision with a dark blue Vauxhall Zafira, said Sussex police.

The incident occurred at the junction with Pound Gate, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Vauxhall, a 31-year-old man, was uninjured, police said.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and a section of the road will remain closed for investigations and recovery work.

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened, or anyone who captured the movements of either vehicle on a dash cam before the collision, to email [email protected] quoting Operation Convent.
