Woman seriously hurt after crash in Lindfield

A woman suffered potentially life-threatening head injuries in a crash in Lindfield yesterday (Sunday November 22).

Police believe she lost control of her blue Fiat 500 on ice on the B2038, and collided with another vehicle about 100 yards from the junction with Park Lane.

Emergency services were called at 8am.

The 43-year-old woman from Lindfield was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious head and neck injuries.

She remains there today (Monday November 23).

The driver of a grey Audi A4, a 59-year-old man from Haywards Heath, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

The road remained closed until just after 12 noon.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw the collision or may have been in the area in the time leading up to can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 308 of 22/11.
