Floods spanned across Burgess Hill today (August 13).

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesperson said at least five roads were attended by firefighters between 11am and 2pm as heavy rain cause flash floods.

Roads which were affected included Park Road, Ash Way, Oak Hall Park and London Road.

Most of the call-outs were due to floods in basements or roadways.

A car also needed to be rescued from deep water in Malthouse Lane.
