The M23 has been re-opened after a five car collision near Gatwick Airport earlier this evening (July 24).

Police closed two lanes northbound between junction 9, at Gatwick Airport, and junction 8 whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said no-one is believed to have suffered serious injuries in the crash but paramedics are still at the scene.

They added the vehicles have now been moved off the road and police have re-opened both lanes.

Long delays are still being reported due to the build up of traffic on the road.
