WORTH ABBEY & GROUNDS: is open for the National Garden Scheme on Thursday 14 April and Sunday 17 April from 2.00 until 5.00 pm. Entry is £4.50 for adults, with children under 16 and carers free. Dogs on leads also welcome. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the Whitehead Room with all profits going to Outreach Peru.

SOUTH EAST WATER: The work on the water main on the Haywards Heath Road has now been finished and the road is open.

TAKEAWAY CHILLI: On Friday 15 April Bryony McIntyre wil be producing takeaway chilli as part of her fund-raising a for the Meningitis Research Foundation. All the money will go towards the charity as part of her fundraising expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September. CINEMA: The next film in the Victory Hall will be Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan, Hugh Gormley, and Jim Broadbent on Friday 15 April starting at 7.30pm. The film is a 12 A - tickets £6 from Threads. Demand is expected to be high – so please book early!

CRAFT, GIFT & LOCAL PRODUCE FAIR: the next Fair will be Saturday 16 April; this will be the full market which will include crafts and local produce within the Victory Hall. The Victory Hall Management Committee will be running the charity table and organising refreshments from the WI Room. Among the stallholders will be Luigi with his Italian products, Richard with his lovely sausages and other pork goods, Mary with cakes, jams & chutneys, the delicious Monty Bojangles chocolates and Michelle with jellies, condiments and marinades. The craft stalls include upholstery, hand-knitted garments, doorstops, Usborne Books, handbags, scarves, soaps, silver & crystal jewellery, organic skin care products and so on. Something for everyone so you are sure to find a gift for that upcoming birthday. If you can’t find anything inside then you can always treat yourself to a lovely plant or two at the Rapkyns stall in the car park.

BALCOMBE CLUB: Michael Baker is playing live in the Club on Saturday 16 April in the evening.

COFFEE, PLAY & PRAISE: takes place at St. Mary’s on Wednesday 20 April at 2.00 pm. For parents and carers with pre-school children.

BALCOMBE FRENCH ASSOCIATION’S: wine tasting event is on Friday 22 April at 7.30 pm in the Victory Hall. Tickets are on sale now in Threads. The theme is Affordable Wines from France and Beyond. There will be plenty of choice for everyone and a good number of wines on offer. Tickets are £15 for members and £17.50 for non-members and you can get your tickets from Threads or pay on the website. As ever there will be some nibbles to keep you going, and we’ll be in the Victory Hall to make sure we stay warm and dry. There will also be a wine-related fun quiz, and the winner gets a bottle of wine. What better way to start the weekend or celebrate an anniversary?
