CRICKET WEEK: starts on Saturday 23 July with the BBQ on Saturday 30 July. The format this year has been adapted with many days featuring an afternoon game to be followed by a T20 game in the evening. Additionally this year they are hosting a Junior Roadshow with the held from the ECB and the Sussed Cricket Foundation on Tuesday 26 July. Any interested junior should contact their Junior Coach for further information. Food and drink will be readily available each evening with the Saturday BBQ the highlight. Tickets are available from the normal village outlets as well as from Carol Dutton, Adrian Ruzicka and Tim Murrills.

QUIZ: The Balcombe Club will be hosting Pam and Barrrie for a Sunday Quiz on Sunday 24 July at 8.00 pm. Teams of four.

CARE GROUP AGM: takes place on Wednesday 27 July at 7.30 pm in the Parish Room. Please come and support this fantastic village institution. The Care Group organises volunteers who take Balcombe villagers to various appointments in and around the area eg to Handcross Surgery, the Princess Royal Hospital and sometimes to East Grinstead. They are always on the lookout for new drivers – the more there are the fewer times you are called upon. So come along to the AGM and get involved.

BALCOMBE FETE: Thank you to all the Clubs and Societies who took part on Saturday it was great to see so many of you represented. We also sincerely thank our sponsors and all those (and there were loads) who came to help to set up on Friday and take down on Sunday. We hope that you all enjoyed the day as much as the organisers!

BOWLS CLUB: The results for Saturday 9 July when the Jubilee Cup was contested – the Club had teams from Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath & Beech Hurst, West Hoathly and Handcross taking part. The winners were Handcross A Team. On Sunday 10 July Haywards Heath & Beech Hurst cancelled due to lack of players. On Thursday 14 July Balcombe 81: Burgess Hill 48. On Saturday 16 July Southwater 78: Balcombe 65. Sunday 17 July Balcombe 62: Handcross 68.
