The Mobile Library: will be in the car park of the Red Lion this morning, Thursday, from 10.05 am until 10.50 am. This is a free service provided by West Sussex Libraries and with so many libraries closing, we really ought to make good use of this service or we might lose it as well. The next visit will be on Thursday, 1 September at the same time and in the same place so if they don't have the book you want this time, I'm sure they will be able to get it for you on their next visit.

Heavy Horses: On Sunday, don’t forget the heavy horses from the Working Horse Trust will be harrowing the wild flower meadow at High Beeches Gardens. The Gardens will be open from 11 am until 5 pm giving you plenty of time to see the horses at work, have a wander around the gardens to see the blue woodland gentians (which should be in flower) and have some lunch before having a look at the Hayward Tyler Hot Air Engine which is expected to be up and running and is the last one of its kind still on its original site. Community bus trip: I understand that there are still some places left on the Community Bus for their trip to the Isle of Wight on Saturday, 17 September. The Bus will be leaving Nymans at 7 am and returning on the 6 pm ferry. If you are interested – and the fare is a reasonable £28 per person – get in touch with Christina, either in the Hardware Shop or on 400212.

On the subject of the Community Bus, did you know that not only does it run trips such as this, but it also runs a ‘regular’ bus timetabled service? On Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning it goes to Horsham; Thursday morning it goes to Crawley and Thursday afternoon to Burgess Hill. For full details, have a look on the notice board outside the Hardware Shop behind the bench or call in and pick up a printed timetable by the till.
