Lindfield Arts Festival: Saturday 17th September. The programme is filling up fast. There is a literary element to the festival and an award-winning author will be giving author talks on this day. Eve Ainsworth will be talking to children about her work and inspiring them with her love for reading and writing. Creative writing will also be on the menu with Inkpots running workshops for everyone who loves writing, reading and drawing. Celebrating Shakespeare: Coro Nuovo’s concert celebrating 400 years of Shakespeare’s literary legacy promises to be a delight for all. Under the musical directorship of international tenor Andrew Rees the programme will recognise the genius of Shakespeare in a unique musical tribute, offering a selection of musical settings of his plays and sonnets from some of the world’s best composers, for example Byrd, Tallis, George Shearing and Vaughan Williams. The concert will even include an up to date version of West Side Story songs which is based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. During the evening there will be performances from the 4 finalists of the Coro Nuovo Young Musician of the Year 2016 competition. The winner will receive a £500 bursary and the opportunity to perform with the choir in 2017. The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Sunday 17th July at the Ascension Church, Vale Road, Haywards Heath. Your Lindfield Country Market: now has extended opening hours each Thursday from 10-11.15am. There are now more plants for sale at very reasonable prices . Before you charge off to Garden Centres come along to the Market and save some money. The plants are all in tip top condition. Later on you will be able to find a really large plant stall at Village Day run by Market volunteers-always worth a visit.
