Newick Country Market: will be open as usual on Friday morning in the Village Hall from 10 to 11am, there is always a good selection of locally grown vegetables, plus many homemade goodies to tempt you, so why not pop along and see for yourself what available and enjoy a cuppa.

Church: This weekend the services at St. Mary’s Church are Holy Communion at 8am followed at 9.30am Morning Worship, lifts to Church are available , if booked in advance, please telephone 722582. Everyone welcome.

The Newick Cinema’s: next film to be shown in the Village Hall on Sunday 24th April will be the James Bond film SPECTRE, starring Daniel Craig, you can reserve your tickets by emailing [email protected] or telephone 01 825 723 392. Tickets cost £6 doors open at 7 the film will commence at 7.30pm, there is a licensed bar and refreshments are available, this is a great film don’t miss it. Enjoy your evening out.

Newick WI: will be holding their next meeting on 28th April, when Andrew Glaysher will be talking about KNOW YOUR JEWELLERY in the Community Centre at 7.45pm , visitors are most welcome to attend this meeting and learn about gemstones, precious metals and pearls, and what makes an interesting piece of jewellery.

Just to remind you: of the Bonfire Society’s Air Soft Games on Sunday 17th at CRONK’S WOOD ( at the top of Cinder Hill from 9.30am entry £15 per player this includes two 50 minutes games ,plus equipment training and refreshments , sounds like a fun day. for further details telephone 01 825 722 443.

The next Newick Healthy Walk: will take place on 27th April, commencing on the Village Green opposite THE BULL INN this will take about 1 hour..

Weather: We are certainly seeing lots of April showers at the moment, everywhere is beginning to look very fresh with new green leaves appearing on hedgerows and trees. A lovely time of the year..
