Wivelsfield Films: will be screening Brooklyn in the Village Hall on Sunday April 17th.

Brooklyn is a 2015 Irish-British-Canadian romantic drama directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, based on Colm Tóibín’s novel of the same name. The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson,Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters. Set in 1951 and 1952, the film tells the story of a young Irish woman’s immigration to Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within them for her.

The film was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Wivelsfield Stoolball Club: Wivelsfield Ladies Stoolball are keen to involve new players in the club so that Wivelsfield will still have a team in the local league. East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre: East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre is a registered charity working in partnership with Adult Social Care to provide a no charge mobile information and advice service for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people living in East Sussex. The mobile unit will be visiting Wivelsfield on Thursday 14th April 2016. It will be in St Georges Park, opposite Maes Court from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

The bus is accessible to wheelchair users and representatives from both the East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre and Adult Social Care will be available to provide individual information and advice on all aspects of hearing loss. PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS: All Parish Council meetings are open to members of the public and begin with an “open forum” session during which members of the Parish are welcome to ask questions or bring matters to the attention of the Council. Meetings are held at 8.00pm in the Renshaw Room at the far end of Wivelsfield Village Hall, unless otherwise stated on the agenda. Agendas are published in the week prior to the meeting and be found in the Parish. Council notice board (outside the Village Stores & Post Office) or at www.wivelsfield.net.

PARISH COUNCIL OFFICE: Your Parish Council office is located adjacent to the Cock Inn, on North Common Road. It is normally open from 9.00 to 11.30am on Mondays and then 9.00am to 12.00 noon on Tuesdays & Fridays.
