Horncastle House in Sharpthorne has once again participated in this year’s Care Home Open Day which was held on Friday June 17.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘Celebration’ and we celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with an indoor street party and live entertainment. We offered snacks and refreshments and everyone seemed to enjoy their scones and cakes.
The staff, headed by Alison Gair-Stevens and Albersito Ignao (SCA) joined the service users in their OOMPH (Our Organisation Makes People Happy) exercise class in the morning. Families and friends came to celebrate with us. The Town Mayor, Cllr Bob Mainstone and the Mayoress Christine Mainstone were also in attendance. Tina Carter from West Sussex Business Care Sector also visited us in the morning.
This open day has turned out to be successful. Many visitors viewed the home, and we now have clients on the waiting list! Agnes Valdez (Manager), together with her Deputy Manager Edgar Clement and the rest of the team has worked really well to ensure that high standards of care are maintained at Horncastle House. They received an excellent rating of good on their recent CQC Inspection.
