Thanks to you, the public, the Rotary Club of Cuckfield & Lindfield raised £1027.16 at Christmas.
A rota of Rotarians was present on three Saturday mornings before Christmas in the two villages in all weathers, holding collecting tins. You very generously dropped in your spare change, £1 and £2 coins and even some notes. The Club also took part in the village Festival evenings with their stall selling mulled wine, mulled cider and mince pies. The money raised from these activities will be used for donations to local charitable causes and worthwhile community projects.
Plumpton Races on 15 December was the venue for more Rotary activity with a tombola stall and and exit collection. The total raised was £673 which included £31 of winnings from betting on the horses, using a stake donated by the Tote. All this money will be donated to St Peter & St James Hospice.
The Club would like to express its appreciation for your generosity in helping it to raise a grand total of £1700 which will be used to make a significant contribution to the community. If you are interested in helping and having fun at the same time, see rotarysussex.org and contact Jaime Wallden on 01273 983 192, email jaimewallden@mansellmctaggart for more information about the Rotary Club.
