An animal lover from Burgess Hill is organising a Christmas shoebox appeal for Raystede Animal Welfare Centre

The centre, which is based near Lewes, has been caring for animals for over 60 years. Every year the centre rescues, re-homes or provides sanctuary for more than 1,500 animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, horses & donkeys to name a few.

Justine Crookall, who is running the Mid Sussex appeal, is hoping to collect shoeboxes filled with food, toys and treats for the animals to enjoy over the festive period. She said last year was a huge success and hoping this year will be just as good.

The drop off points in the Mid Sussex area include Martha & Daisy’s in Burgess Hill, Tesco Superstore in Burgess Hill (please hand in at customer services), Heath Vets Burgess Hill & Hurstpierpoint,H&D Air Conditioning in Burgess Hill and Gardenia Tea House in Cuckfield.

For more information about donating a box contact Justine at shoeboxappeal@yahoo.co.uk , Facebook ‘shoebox appeal Burgess Hill’ or call 07724 352777. The appeal is running until December 16.
