On Friday May 27, a beautifully hot sunny day, the team at MCL Telecom in Burgess Hill joined forces with Mid Sussex-based Ultimate Outdoor Training to cycle the distance of 806km to raise money for St. Peters and St. James Hospice.

By gathering support and participation from our fantastic customers, family and friends to all get on the bikes and cycle for 15 minutes each, we managed to cover the distance not only from the original target of London to Paris but also back again!

Alongside this we had a booming trade selling homemade cakes and cookies at the fundraiser, held outside MCL Telecoms offices in Victoria Road, which contributed to raising an incredible total of £2,800.

“It was an incredible day, the atmosphere was buzzing and it was great to see such a fantastic show of support for a very worthy cause,” said Amanda Christensen, director at MCL Telecom.

“We even had a visit from Burgess Hill Mayor, Jacqui Landriani!

“MCL Telecom are an active supporter of the hospice and after such a successful event we are looking forward to arranging the next one.”

“As soon as we heard MCL were hosting a charity event, cycling from London to Paris, we had to get stuck in. Ultimate Trainers and WARRIORS alike hold St. Peter & St. James Hospice very close to our hearts, they have done so much for our loved ones,” explained Dave Shaldoum, co-owner of Ultimate Outdoor Training.

“We will certainly be looking to get involved in more fundraising events in the near future for St Peter and St James’s and many other local, great causes.”
