In a flurry of golden balloons and a beautiful new garden area The Gattons Infant School celebrated 50 golden years.
A whole day of events and activities for children, staff, parent helpers and special guests marked the special occasion.
The main event was the opening of an exciting new garden area where the children can be involved in pond dipping and planting, enjoy stories and learning under a special all weather canopy.
Year 2 children worked hard on their Ground force day to help add the finishing touches to the area. Golden memory leaves fluttered and golden balloons filled the air.
Children iced birthday biscuits and a special open air concert was performed involving singing and recorders.
The Year 2 children acted as garden ‘guides’ and parents were invited to a special viewing of the garden complete with information booklet.
In all, the day was a great success, and one to remember. Special thanks to premises manager Helen Coole for all her hard work, and the team of volunteers who helped create this wonderful learning environment.
Here’s to the next 50 years!
