On a bright sunny day one of the biggest events in the golf clubs calendar took place, The Charity Day. Haywards Heath Golf Club has a great record with local charities and has raised well over a £100,000 in the past 5years.

This year’s charity chosen by the Lady Captain Kathy Honeysett is “Friends of Kleinwort Centre”. A local charity based in Haywards Heath. The charity provides care and support to people following illness or surgery either at home or in the care beds at the Kleinwort Centre.

The charity day itself is a fun day for all the members and produced a record turnout. After the golf everybody gathered in the clubhouse for the main event of the day the Auction. A variety of prizes had been donated by members and local businesses consisting of holidays, meals at local restaurants, golf days at local clubs as well as vintage wines.

Vice Captain Martin Hubbard led the auction with great success and club captain Mark Gerken was able to announce that a sum of over £9000 was raised on the day.

The day finished with a barbeque in the grounds, all in all a great day for everyone.
