Car insurance provider 1ST CENTRAL launched its Charity Auction on Monday November 2 which aims to raise £7,000 for local charity St Peters & St James Hospice.

The donated Lots up for grabs include tickets to see The Maccabees or The Vaccines, spa days, an iPad Mini 2, and many others including clothing, books, event tickets, electronics, experience days, jewellery, and more.

St Peter & St James Hospice, a charity which aims to make a positive difference to those facing death or bereavement in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Lewes and Uckfield, is 1ST CENTRAL’s ‘Charity of the Year’.

The auction is part of the insurer’s year-long campaign to raise a total of £40,000 for the hospice. It follows a recent fund-raising abseiling event in which more than 50 1ST CENTRAL employees scaled the insurer’s offices and raised more than £2,000 towards the cause.

The Lots for the Charity Auction were donated by 1ST CENTRAL and other generous businesses and individuals.

Commenting on the fund-raising event, Andy James, UK CEO, of 1ST CENTRAL said: “As one of the largest employers in Haywards Heath we have a commitment to give back to the local community, and are proud to be supporting St Peters & St James Hospice this year.

“The charity really does some fantastic work in the local community and we’re coming very close to reaching our £40,000 target. We hope this campaign will help us reach our goal and raise as much for the hospice as possible.”
