Warden Park for the first time this year, entered into the U13 National Schools Netball Competition.

This competition is run by School Sport Magazine, who run a national competitions for a variety of sports.

In our first game we came up against local school Oathall, who after a nail biting game, which finished at a tie after four quarters, we managed to take the lead to win in extra time. Our next game was to be against Brighton and Hove Prep School, a formidable team that resulted in another tense game, where Warden Park fought to the very last minute to take a win 26-24.

Having got through the Sussex round, we then went onto play Guildford High School, a school with an incredible record in netball, having won this competition 5 years running.

We knew it was going to be a tough game, and that it was, despite a strong fighting spirit and an immense drive from Warden Park, it was not to be and Guildford High School took the win. Guildford High School are now through to the Semi Finals of the competition.

The girls did an amazing job at standing their ground against some tough teams, including two private schools, and to finish in the top 40 schools in the country is a great achievement, they should be very proud! Well done girls!
