Quakers have been meeting in their cosy building in East Gardens, Ditchling, for 50 years and are now trying meeting at Burgess Hill School for Girls too (Croft 2 hall), to offer more space for families with young children. Usually, the Meeting for Worship will be held on the fourth Sunday in the month at 10.30am-11.30am. Children join the worshipping silence for the first ten minutes and then members lead an activity suitable for children aged two-12.

Cilla de Lande Long from Ditchling Meeting says: “We shall continue meeting in our Ditchling location every Sunday as well, but we want to be more accessible to those with children and people who use public transport. Burgess Hill School has a lovely studio space and is close to bus stops and the railway station. At our Children’s Meeting we explore our attitudes to the world, to each other, and to things of the spirit in a fun and gentle way. Anyone is very welcome, though we can’t accept children without their parents there.”
