48 Year 9 students participated in this year’s Tenner Challenge at Oakmeeds Community College.

The students were loaned £10 by the College as an initial start-up fund for their business. They had one month to trade and at the end of this, the £10 was to be returned and all profits donated to a charity of their choice.

The groups worked extremely hard at activities such as car washing, sweet/biscuit sales and dog walking. At the end of the month, the students had raised a fantastic £995 for a variety of charities.

The top four groups each raised in excess of £100. All the students were presented with certificates during an assembly celebrating achievement.

The winning group were Jemma Forster and Sophie Richardson who raised £147.15 for The Brighton and Hove Greyhound Trust. Runners Up were Megan Edwards, Raisa Hussain, Alisha Jordan and Laura Smith.

Well done to all involved!
