As part of their commitment to get everybody active, every day, the Mid Sussex Wellbeing Team will sponsor this year’s Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend fun run, taking place on the May bank holiday weekend.
Just a mile in distance, the fun runs will be accessible for all abilities and present a great opportunity to be involved in a community event. Councillor Norman Webster, MSDC Cabinet Member for Health and Community said: “Whether you walk, run, skip or jump the course, we want everyone to have fun being part of this fantastic event. You may want to get together a group to raise money for a cause close to your heart or just want to be part of the action, whatever your motivation the Mid Sussex Wellbeing Team have lots of tips and advice to help you get started.”
The Mid Sussex Wellbeing team provides advice, guidance and support to make lifestyle changes such as losing weight, eating well, getting more active, reducing alcohol intake and stopping smoking.
So if you want to be involved, but need help getting active, call the Mid Sussex Wellbeing team today on 01444 477191 email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit their website: midsussexwellbeing.org.uk and they will get you started.
The fun runs will start at 9.30am on all three days of the May Bank Holiday weekend, before the main races at 10.30am. We are delighted the 2016 races will be hosted again at the 2015 venues:
n Saturday 30th April – East Grinstead Rugby Club, Saint Hill Road, East Grinstead, RH19 4JU.
n Sunday 1st May – Victoria Park, Haywards Heath, RH16 4LY.
n Monday 2nd May – Oakmeeds Community College, Station Road, Burgess Hill, RH15 9EA.
You don’t need to run in the weekend event to be involved as volunteer support will be required each day to assist with marshalling of the routes. Alongside volunteers, event organisers are also seeking local business partners who are interested in becoming event sponsors or providing race prizes. Visit www.midsussexmarathon.co.uk
