Volunteers from Yorkshire Building Society picked up their paintbrushes to help redecorate an Age UK centre in Haywards Heath.

The team of 13 branch and area managers descended on the Redwood Centre after they asked for help in giving it a brighter, fresher look.

Ellie Milward, development manager for Yorkshire Building Society, said: “The Redwood Centre is a hub of activity for many older people in Haywards Heath. From Tai Chi to Bingo there is always something going on.

“They asked for help in redecorating their hall which was beginning to look a bit tired and dated. It was a fantastic day and a great opportunity to give something back to a charity which helps so many.”

Yorkshire Building Society is committed to the communities it serves and offers every colleague up to 31 hours’ paid leave to help out at a charity or good cause of their choice through it’s Volunteering programme.

Kim Flemming, head of wellbeing services at Age UK West Sussex, said: “We were delighted to welcome volunteers from the building society and really pleased with the redecoration work of The Redwood Centre Hall.

“ We look forwards to working with Yorkshire Building Society again soon.”
