The referendum: on the Wivelsfield Neighbourhood Plan is being held today, Thursday 27th October, in the Village Hall, Wivelsfield Green.
If the majority vote is in favour of the Wivelsfield Parish Neighbourhood Plan, it will become part of the Lewes District Development Plan. This means that Lewes District Council will be required to use the Neighbourhood Plan as a guide to planning applications and it will influence future development in Wivelsfield Parish to the year 2030. If we do not have a Neighbourhood Plan in place we are at greater risk of excessive planning applications from developers. Your Neighbourhood Plan will not be implemented unless the majority vote is “YES”, so please vote “YES”….today! Wivelsfield Neighbourhood Plan Referendum - Thursday 27th October

Trunk Vintage Winter Fair: 5th November 10am to 4pm at the Church Hall, Church Lane, Wivelsfield RH17 7RD. Lots of lovely home items for sale from a variety of vintage traders!

Wivelsfield Little Theatre: The Dixie Swim Club - Wivelsfield Little Theatre. Thurs 10th, Friday 11th and Sat 12th November at 7.30pm. Set in North Carolina, U.S.A. the play revolves around five southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, who set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. As their lives unfold and the years pass, these women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, and aging) that life flings at them. And when fate throws a wrench into one of their lives in the second act, these friends, proving the enduring power of “teamwork,” rally ‘round their own with the strength and love that takes this comedy in a poignant and surprising direction. THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB is the story of these five unforgettable women — a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever. Box Office on 01444 471201. Licensed bar open from 7pm at Wivelsfield Village Hall, Eastern Road, Wivelsfield Green, RH17 7QH. The Little Theatre is busy. Almost as soon as The Dixie Swim Club is over they will be repeating the mediaeval Nativity play which has played to full houses in the church five times since 2003. So impressive is the play that some people have come on all five occasions. If you have never seen it don’t miss out this time. Box office will open next week, Watch this space.
