The evening, which took place at secondary school, The Burgess Hill Academy, included a quiz covering a wide variety of topics, interspersed with musical performances from Ariel’s Musicality Choir, featuring students from Ariel’s Sussex Academies and the Ariel Adult Choir with members from Burgess Hill and Crawley.

The choirs’ pieces were complimented by some solos and duets, as all the Ariel Academy principals took to the stage, along with some fantastic guest singers.

Ariel’s 700 students from drama academies in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Crawley, East Grinstead and Steyning have chosen to support children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House in 2017 and many parents donated prizes to the Grand Raffle which was held on the evening.

The fundraising was given a boost by racing driver Bo Neilsen who donated, an auction prize of an exhilarating drive around Brands Hatch for the successful bidder. In total an incredible £1,200 was raised from the event.

Ariel Director Nicci Hopson said: “It was a fantastic evening! The event was bigger and better than last year and I am delighted that we more than doubled the amount we raised! It was a real team effort and a big thank you goes to all the performers, students and parents who supported the event. It was a great start to our 2017 fundraising efforts for this important local charity.”

Ariel’s drama academies offers free trials at all their drama academies for prospective students aged five to 19. There is no audition process and everyone is welcome. Places are currently available at the Crawley, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead academies and short waiting lists are in place at Burgess Hill and Steyning.
