Hospital appeal for a piano

DO you have a piano that you no longer need? Lisa Godfrey, who manages the Poynings unit at the Princess Royal Hospital, is appealing to anyone in the community who may be able to donate one.

The unit cares for patients with dementia who are being treated for a medical problem.

Lisa is also appealing for old photographs and old newspapers to add to a collection in a special nostalgia room on the unit.

Last Wednesday, nurses held a tea-party for the patients. The party was one of a series of events that took place within the NHS in central Sussex to show how much importance Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals places on dignity and quality of care.

You can read a special article about the pioneering work being carried out by Lisa and her team on the Poynings Unit on pages 6 and 7 of the Mid Sussex Times, which is published on Thursday, February 9.

If you have a piano or memorabilia please contact Lisa Godfrey via the Poynings Unit on 01444 441881.
