He may not be David Bowie but Transport Minister and Lewes MP Norman Baker is hoping for chart success.

Norman is about to release his first album with his band The Reform Club and when he burst into song at Piccadilly Circus his melodious voice drew in the crowds:

Norman said: “It’s been great fun making the album and being able to work with some great musicians. Music is very important to me and a big part of my life when I switch off from the day job. I hope people enjoy what we’ve put together.”

The album, Always Tomorrow, is out on Monday and contains 15 original songs, all written by Norman with guitarist Mike Phipps.

Other band members are Newhaven residents Dave Twaits on bass guitar and Chris Dartneil on drums.

The album was recorded in Brighton and Seaford between August and November last year and will be available in shops on CD and LP, and on download.

There is a band website at thereformclub.
