MP enjoys wild encounter
When Sir Nicholas Soames, MP for Mid Sussex, arrived to open the first event of the Burgess Hill Summer Festival '˜Wild About Mid Sussex' and was touring the exhibits in the marquee, he came face-to-face with Boris, a bearded dragon.
Highly amused to learn of the reptile’s name, Sir Nicholas decided that he must take a photo of it. We can only guess at its destination, but no doubt all involved enjoyed the joke!
Some 2,000 people attended this event which marked day one of the festival where many live exhibits delighted the visitors, together with local and national conservation groups and four local universities.
