The Captains of Adastra Bowling Club in Hassocks, Carole Small and David Reader, presented a cheque for £1,100 to Carol Hughes of St Peter and St James Hospice at the annual Presidents versus Captains bowling match held at Adastra Park on Sunday, September 25th.

The money had been raised at a variety of fund raising events held by the bowling club during the year.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the hospice, Carol Hughes said that “donations like this are vital in supporting tour work - thank you to all club members for your amazing fund raising efforts this year and your donation.”

Each year the club captains choose a charity of their choice. Carole and David said that “they had chosen the hospice this year as it performs such a vital role on behalf of the whole local community.”
