LETTER: Merger plans for hospitals?

My letter in the Middy three weeks ago refered to my misgivings about the possibility of moving the PRH Stroke Unit to Brighton Sussex Hospital and that it was my view that this was PRH closure by stealth.

Further to this letter I read in the I newspaper’s (14 Feb) extensive week long articles on the NHS and its plans that the PRH in Haywards Heath is a “possible downgrade”.

Could this be part of the proposed merger of Brighton and West Sussex Hospital Trusts? I do believe we need to seriously watch this space if we aim to keep this jewel in the Mid Sussex crown.
