We each took a friend to the PRH on the same Friday morning a few weeks ago.

One patient had been referred by his GP to the Medical Assessment Unit where he was seen by a doctor immediately and seamlessly transferred to the Resuscitation Unit in A & E for heart monitoring. He was later admitted to a ward where his condition was diagnosed and treatment organised.

The other patient had seen his GP the day before but the condition had worsened and so he was taken to A&E. He was promptly triaged, assessed by a doctor, scanned and made comfortable. After further observation he was also admitted to be monitored over the weekend.

He was discharged on Monday morning after being seen by the consultant and is awaiting further investigation.

The NHS often receives bad publicity.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Assessment Unit and A & E teams for their efficient, helpful and professional attitude in the care of our friends and us.
