LETTER: Vital lifeline

I want take this opportunity to thank all of your readers who have continued to support the work of the NSPCC during the last 12 months.

Without the backing of local people we simply wouldn’t be able to deliver our vital services which are so often a lifeline to many children and young people whose lives have been affected by abuse – so a really huge thank you to everyone who has helped in some way.

With the New Year comes the time to make those all important New Year Resolutions and I’d like to appeal to your readers whose resolution was to run the London Marathon, to consider using their place to run for the NSPCC.

We are the official charity partner for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2016 – a year that also marks 30 years of our ChildLine service.

Money raised by supporters will help the free and confidential helpline to be there when a child is being abused, feeling suicidal or are in danger. Right now we can only help 3 out of every 4 children who try to make contact. By being part of our biggest team ever, you can help us answer every child who contacts ChildLine.
