More than 260 Race for Life events are taking place across the UK and now women in Mid Sussex can take part in Ardingly on June 29.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life 2008 is hoping to attract 2,000 competitors to Ardingly and raise £141,000 from the event.
The 5km course will take runners, joggers and walkers around the South of England Showground and surrounding areas, providing a picturesque setting for the challenge.
For many women Race for Life is an annual occasion while for others this will be the first time they take part in an event of this size. Some are cancer survivors while others run or walk in memory or in celebration of family, friends or loved ones, making the race experience both emotional and inspiring.
Race for Life began in 1994 as a women only event and has remained so ever since due to its huge popularity and its non-competitive atmosphere which encourages women of all ages and fitness levels to take part.
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research and the largest single funder of cancer research in the UK.
Every penny raised in sponsorship by Race for Life participants goes directly to Cancer Research UK, to help fund life-saving research to beat cancer.
Each year in the UK, nearly 285,000 people are diagnosed with cancer and more than 150,000 people die from the disease. More than one in three people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives.
