Match preview: Leicester City vs Brighton
Brighton go into tonight’s game without a win in four and in need of a morale-boosting performance.
Gus Poyet’s men have managed just a single goal and one point from three home games against Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and Middlesbrough and drew a blank during a drab draw at Derby County.
The team’s major problem seems to be in finding the net although, with Craig Mackail-Smith having returned at the weekend, there should be a higher level of potency on show in the East Midlands tonight.
Will Hoskins and Vicente are still missing, while Andrea Orlandi is out nursing a calf injury.
William Buckley and Gary Dicker, both of whom were left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s defeat, are pushing for a recall while Poyet will have to decide whether or not to adopt a more attacking starting 11 against the high-flying Foxes.
The smart money says Ashley Barnes will continue in one of the wider attacking positions, with Buckley likely to be introduced on the opposite flank.
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson will give striker Jamie Vardy a late fitness test while Zak Whitbread is in contention after overcoming cramp. Sean St Ledger though is sidelined with a hamstring complaint.
Poyet has said he will look at bringing in a loan striker if his side draws a blank.
