With the top order unable to cope with the home sides bowling Ansty found themselves at 23-4 and could not regain the initiative. Smith scored 36 but with only two other batsmen in double figures, Luke Wood (11) and Dom Mamoany(10), Ansty’s innings ended on 87 all out. For the home side Jake Smith took 5-35 with two wickets apiece for Justin Hall and Dale Stevenson.

The result did not look in doubt as St James began knocking off the runs. However the first wicket fell before a run was added but Owen May struck 46 before being bowled by Charlie Layton and Jake Smith was 24no as the home side easily overtook the score that Ansty had set. Layton took 3-11.
