Cuckfield's last chance of survival

CUCKFIELD Cricket Club skipper Chris Mole says his team will come out 'all guns blazing' for this weekend's last game of the season against Horsham.

Sitting second bottom, the home fixture represents the club's last chance to avoid the drop in what will be a nervy four-way duel to avoid the final relegation place on the last day of the cricket season.

Three Bridges – who are nine points above Cuckfield – take on Hastings while Eastbourne and East Grinstead, who are 13 and 22 points clear respectively face each other.

"We need to win, it's as simple as that," Mole declared. "Last weekend (in a draw with Brighton) we were extremely unlucky, we batted and bowled really well but that's the sort of luck you get at the bottom.

"We have to aim for maximum points, I'll have my strongest team and we will be going out all guns blazing."

Tom Mole and Jason Oates return while England Under-19 international James Thorpe could also be included against a Horsham side who have already secured second place.

The match starts at 11am.
