Andy Pearson and Joe Keehan have left Burgess Hill Town to join Southern Combination League Premier Division outfit Shoreham.

Hillians boss Ian Chapman cited work commitments as the reason for leaving. He said: “Andy and Joe leftbecause of their work commitments, they can’t do the travelling any more.”

Joe’s brother Kevin has taken over as assistant manager at Shoreham while Bryan OToole is the new boss at Middle Road.

Chapman said: “Logistically the can’t commit themselves We sat down and spoke about his situation. He’s got his business up and running and Andy works for him and most Saturdays they’re struggling to get away. If we have got to travel somewhere they can’t really get away before midday.

“Too many times this year they have not felt good because of it, so they have decided to step down and play County League football.”

And Chapman knows they will be a loss to the team. He said: “They were two decent players for us. The season before this one Andy won every trophy for us. And Joe’s been invaluable as well. But they are not leaving because of money, it’s because of their business. They are great lads.”

Chapman will be looking to rebuild his squad ready for next season in the Ryman Premier. He has already spoken to some players but said there is ‘nothing concrete’ yet.
