Pat Harding hit all four goals as Burgess Hill twice came from behind to win 4-2 at Whitstable on what was a great night for our three senior football teams.

That win made it four without defeat and moved Hillians up to fifth in the Ryman South table.

Meanwhile there were League Cup wins for Hassocks and St Francis Rangers.

Hill boss Ian Chapman praised his side: “We showed great resolve and full credit to the whole squad,” he said.

The visitors fell behind after only three minutes but Harding replied five minutes later.

Whitstable restored their lead on the hour but again Harding was quick to cancel that and on 74 minutes put his side ahead when Omar Bugiel won a penalty.

Harding then struck another spot kick against a post before completing the scoring on 86 minutes. That took his personal tally to eight goals in those four matches unbeaten.

Stuart Tuck missed the game but should be back for the visit of Dulwich on Saturday.

Hassocks had a good 2-0 win at Redhill, where Nathan Miles struck on the stroke of half time after an initial error by the home keeper.

The injured Dan Smith was replaced by Phil Johnson at half time and it was he who sealed the win on 74 minutes after a good interchange between Miles and Anthony Hibbert.

Robins were good value for the win despite being without key Phil Gault, Kieran O’Callaghan and Rob South.

Josh Perry scored twice and set up another for Ryan Collins in between as Rangers wrapped up their 3-0 win at home to Chichester before the break.

Perry was one of three players subbed at half time as Messrs Walsh, Pears and O’Neil were brought on by Geoff Pitcher, who soon hopes to have striker Sam Jeremiah back.
